Supporting Enviro Champs in their social, financial and livelihoods capabilities
DUCT currently works with 1 000 youth, hired as Enviro Champs, responsible for cleaning rivers and looking after the environment. However, DUCT is increasingly recognising that to support their work efficiently and make sure that they can be an agent of change in their communities, such challenges have to be addressed as an integral part of their work.
SaveAct, working with Fiinafas, will test a 2-month pilot to further support Enviro Champs and DUCT staff to improve their financial well-being, mental health, access to livelihoods pathways and goal-setting skills. SaveAct and Fiinafas will test how to best integrate financial and social supporting solutions such as savings groups, training and a personalised digital coaching journey. The project aims at training 20 or 40 Enviro Champs and
2 DUCT staff.
